Li bre office calc is the spread sheet component of  li bre office software package .. calc is also capable of saving spread sheets as PDF Files
as with the entire Libre office suite ,Calc is available for variety of platform,including Linux 
OS X , MICROSOFT WINDOW AND FREE BSD

Libre office calc provides you with function s, including statistical and banking functions,that you can use to create formula to perform complex calculations on your data you can also use the function Wizard,  help you to create your formulas.

WHAT--If calculations:

An interesting feature is to be able  to immediately view the results of changes made to one factor of calculations that are composed of several factors.

example:-  You can see how changing the time period in a LOAN calculations affects the interest rates or repayment amounts.Further more ,you can manage largest Tables by using 
different predefined scenarios .

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF A SPREAD SHEET ?

 A spread sheet is used to organize and categorize information in to easily readable and understandable columns and rows. Both large and small business can utilize spreadsheet to keep track of important data.

WHAT IS ELECTRONIC SPREADSHEET ?

A spread sheet is a computer application that displays and organize data. Each data is stored in a cell of a worksheet and can be manipulated using formulas to calculate or change the data in other cells . The spread sheet originated as an electronic equivalent of paper accounting sheet.

WHAT IS A VARIABLE IN A SPREADSHEET ?

A variable in spreadsheet is unit of storage that can change to any value or state at any time. The word variable can also be used to refer to the value itself

There are different type of variable including numeric variables,memory addresses and character variables  . To make referencing  the variable easier one should name the variable used in the calculation. Variables help make calculations in the spread sheet more flexible, there fore ,in spread sheet ,one can just change the value of variables and repeat the calculation. without them ,it would mean changing the whole calculation .It is also possible to use a range of cells as a variable. In such a case ,they are operated upon as a single unit.
